Roe Bubar

Roe Bubar, J.D., is Professor Emeritus in the Department of Ethnic Studies at Colorado State University. Roe also served as faculty in Women and Gender Studies with a Joint Appointment in the School of Social Work. Professor Bubar is a former interim Vice President of Diversity Equity and Inclusion at Colorado State University. Professor Bubar research focuses on gender violence, child maltreatment, Indigenous health disparities, settler colonialism, microaggressions impacting Indigenous People. Indigenous methodologies, Indigenous feminisms, qualitative inquiry, settler colonial theory, and intersectionality inform Roe’s research methodology. Professor Bubar’s current research project focuses on late career women of color and gender nonconforming faculty in the academy. Professor Bubar holds a Juris Doctorate from the University of Colorado School of Law and is a licensed attorney in the state of New Mexico.
